Why can't I do what those kids do?
Why do the Children of Truth (those who obey The Father of Truth because they love Him) seem strange to everyone else?
"Why can't I do what those kids do?" Every generation of children in every land throughout every age has asked this question. In every household parents have had the same stock answer: "I do not care what their parents allow them to do in their house. You are part of my family. You are not part of their family. You live in my house so I will decide what is allowed in my house." What a child is allowed to do is determined by who their parents are. The parents have a right to expect their children to be different than other children.
It is no different for the Children of Truth.
The Father of Truth (YHVH aka God aka THE LORD) does not care what the Father of Lies (HaShatan aka Satan aka The Devil) allows in his family. The Children of Truth are not to do what the Children of Lies do (Leviticus 18:24-26). The Father of Truth does not want the Children of Truth to suffer with the Children of Lies for their rebellion against Him (Revelation 18:4).
The Children of Truth are part of the family of the Father of Truth. The Children of Truth are born a second time into the family of the Father of Truth (John 3:6-8). The Children of Truth follow the Man of Truth (Yeshua HaMashiach aka Jesus Christ) (John 8:12). The Children of Truth have been adopted into the family of the Father of Truth by the Spirit of Truth (Ruach HaQodesh aka The Holy Spirit aka The Holy Ghost) (Romans 8:14-16). The Children of Truth have an inheritance in the kingdom of their father (Colossians 1:12).
The Children of Truth are no longer part of the family of the Father of Lies (Colossians 1:13). Abraham was called to leave the house of his father that he was born into and to leave the people that he was once belonged to (Genesis 12:1). The Children of Abraham are those that do what Abraham did (John 8:39). The Children of Truth was been called to leave the house of the Father of Lies that they were born into as well as to leave the Children of Lies that they once belonged to just like Abraham (2 Corinthians 6:16-18).
The Children of Truth live in the House of Truth that belongs to the Father of Truth so the Father of Truth decides what is allowed in the House of Truth. The Children of Truth can only remain in the House of Truth by obeying the Father of Truth (Leviticus 18:27-29). The Children of Truth trust the Father of Truth instead of relying on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). The Children of Truth seek to do the will of the Father of Truth (Matthew 12:50).
What you are allowed to do is determined by who your father is. The Children of Lies act like the Father of Lies because he is their father (John 8:44). The Children of Truth act like the Father of Truth because He is their father (John 14:23-24). The Children of Truth seek to do everything different from the Children of Lies because they want to live a life that reflects the holiness of their father (1 Peter 1:14-17).
The Father of Truth has a right to expect the Children of Truth to be different than everyone else. The Children of Truth are to live a life that everyone can see is different. (Matthew 5:13-16) The Children of Truth are to respond to persecution differently than everyone else (Matthew 5:44-48). The Children of Truth are to give to the poor differently than everyone else (Matthew 6:1-4). The Children of Truth are to tell everyone about the Man of Truth (Matthew 10:32-33). The Children of Truth are to no longer live like the Children of Lies (Ephesians 5:6-8). The Children of Truth should seem strange to everyone else because they no longer live like everyone else (1 Peter 2:9). The Children of Truth should live differently because they know that this world is temporary (2 Peter 3:10-12). The Children of Truth should live differently because they are looking forward to an everlasting world (2 Peter 3:13-15). The Children of Truth should not love the things of this world because those things do not belong to the Father of Truth (1 John 2:15-17). The Children of Truth are to have a pure religion by not only taking care of widows and orphans but also by living a life that is different from everyone else (James 1:27).
The Man of Truth died so the Children of Truth could be different than everyone else by living in the House of Truth (Ephesians 5:25-27). Perhaps you realize that there is no remarkable difference between how you live and how everyone else lives. If you have never been born again, then you can come into the House of Truth to live differently from everyone else by making the Man of Truth your boss in every area of your life because you believe that the Father of Truth raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). If you have been born again but have allowed the world to draw you out of the House of Truth, then it is time for you to come back into the House of Truth. If you will confess your waywardness, then you can come back into the House of Truth and begin to live differently from everyone else (1 John 1:9).
